This year myself and Neil decided to start remodelling our back garden. There are a few things that I was looking forward to and two of them being a revamped mini allotment area and a herb garden.
I am a keen recycler and often will be saying waste not want not in the garden. Which i must say I know sometimes drives my husband up the wall. We had a small fence in the garden and we took to away due to a conservatory being built. We made firstly a gate for my allotment plot and secondly my husband had an idea to make a herb wall from a few old posts and some of the wood from the small fence. Which i think is amazing, and i am very impressed with how it has turned out.
The reason why i wanted a herb wall was due to us having new pet rabbits Simba and Cinnamon who love to eat herbs and what is better than homegrown herbs?! The second reason was to cook with and the ease and feeling of cooking with something that you have grown by yourself. I have over wintered some herbs from the allotment plot last year which i now have potted up in our herb wall.
My husband has given me some herb seeds to grow and I will be doing a step by step guide of how to grow herbs from seeds, potting on over wintering them in the greenhouse when it is winter time. Here is some photos of our herb wall so far and our rabbits for you all to see watch this space for more updates.
